your wedding is a series of moments.
i capture them. i create them.

You might have seen me in these publications

Hello.

I am Christopher Tyson.
I am a Husband.
I am a Father.
I am a shareholding owner of the Green Bay Packers and I really, really like eggnog.

Photography has allowed my family and I to experience a life that I never thought could  be possible when I created C. Tyson Photography in 2008. Since that moment I have photographed weddings with my feet in the in Pacific Ocean, with My feet in the Atlantic Ocean, with My feet in the Mountains, with my feet even in a couple's own backyard. Photography has also given me the opportunity to serve my community, to serve my fellow photographers and to serve people in the far corners of the earth that many have forgotten about. All these things have taught me one guiding truth about your wedding.

Your experience with me as your photographer is just as important as the photographs of the moments I capture.

 I create Moments

I also capture moments, want to see how?

I love this moment that cassi and rob were able to have. I love it because at the end of the night in the middle of all the music and dancing and drinking, I was able to give them a quiet moment to themselves. A moment to relish in what they had just experienced. A moment to breathe. A moment to share a kiss. A moment to laugh. And this moment was entirely created for them by me. When you look through my photographs you will see these moments. Cassi and Rob were not sneaking in a kiss away from their guests, while standing in front my flash, while I quietly hid in the shadows across the pond and stalked them. They trusted their day to me and with that trust, we created this photograph. I carved this moment out of their day because these moments matter. Unless you happened to have the ever common dual degree in modeling and wedding planning, you will need a little guidance to create moments like these.

I also create moments, want to see how?

It was shortly after Alexis and Joe were officially married, that little lull between the ceremony and reception, i looked around for my couple and i could find them. I know what you are thinking, what kind of photographer looses a couple at that moment. Trust me, I asked that myself. The bridal party was around, the parents were close... everyone but Alexis and Joe. So i went on hunt and after a couple of minutes i found them away from their RECEPTION, sneaking in a drink the brewery. i love this photograph not just because of how AUTHENTIC of moment it is but also because of everything else in this photo. the background is a busy restaurant on a saturday evening, yet somehow alexis and joe carved out a little space of their own. this is a moment in between all the "big" moments of a wedding day.  The first kiss, a parent's hug, the couple's first dance... those are easy. The moments in between those moments are where my photography thrives.

 I capture Moments

Night time  |  your wedding does not end at sunset

I love receptions. I love the laughs. I love seeing your friends finally get a chance to cut loose a little, heck maybe even your parents. These moments are forever intertwined with your day and they go far beyond than cutting your cake or your first dance as a couple. It could be a moment like Chelsea's, where she and all of sorority sisters sang "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls while using spatulas as microphones. Right after they sang that song, her husband Trevor and his groomsmen danced, I used that term loosely, to "Slam" by Onyx. You may have a special and unique grand exit like Sarah and Brian did. Even though it was nearing midnight, I made sure sarah and brian had this photograph to always remember that moment. I love natural light but after the sun goes down, there is not much of it. During your reception I will use advanced lighting to be able capture all those moments with your friends. So take a look at my wedding gallery, and see just how much fun my couples get to have at their reception knowing their photographer is not constrained by an hourly time limit.

The party starts at night!

The little things matter

Jenna spent months making each one of her table centerpieces at her reception by hand. Each table had a unique piece she made, every one of them special to her. So I took the time to photograph every single one. Why would I do this? Because the little things matter at your wedding. How could I find time to do this? Because I will ask you, weeks before your wedding, what are the little details that are special and unique to you? My wedding photography package includes, true all day photography coverage. Combine that with helping you with your timeline, we can find little pockets of time that make all the difference. I have photographed many weddings at the same venue, however I have never photographed that venue looking the same. This is because of you and what you are spending months planning and creating. If you love it, cherish it, created it, matched it, or spent waaaaaay too much time choosing it, tell me about it! I want to make sure you can show your children it.

Full wedding galleries

These are the full galleries from a few of the recent weddings I have photographed. They are here for you to see without asking for them. They are not hidden behind a password or just the "best of". The entire day, every moment, both created and captured for you to see and experience.

Cassi & Rob

I remember cassi and rob coming up from florida and sitting on my couch at the studio. I finally got to meet Cassi and Rob in person, we had exchanged all kinds of emails and messages but because they lived out of state, we never got to sit down with each other. When they took a seat in the studio they just seemed so relaxed and comfortable before I could even try and put them at ease. They just fit together so well. This all changed when I asked them how they met, they turned to each other and just smiled, they looked back at me their eyes just beamed with joy as they walked me through their imperfect perfect story.

All the while they were talking I felt like I have known both of them for years. At their wedding, I watched them interact with their friends, I listed to the speeches and I found out I was not special, Cassi and Rob are THAT couple that everyone gravitates to. They can laugh at themselves, they will give you the shirt off their back, they give you a hug when they just met you…

Kate & Aaron

Aaron tracked me down on facebook one day and said, "Hey Hey old timer can you call me? I've got a photo opp.". Little did I know at that time, that this photo op was going to involve Aaron wearing a knight's helmet, carrying sword, riding a horse and in the middle of the St. Patrick's Day parade, all so he could propose to Kate in a grand way.

As their wedding drew near, I kept hearing about how much family meant to the both of them. The fabric that bound Kate and Aaron's hand during their ceremony was from Aaron's father's cloth he wore as a pastor and Kate's was from her Grandmother's wedding dress.

There are couples excited to BE married and couples excited to GET married. For the entire day, whenever I raised my camera, I saw a couple that all that mattered to them was the family they were creating on that day.

Erin & Josh

I met Erin a loonnnnggggg time ago when she was just youngin. She was hired as a cashier back when I was managing, also know as when I was losing my hair and going gray. Lucky for us we had a mutual dislike for a people that we were stuck with and nothing bonds you faster than sharing a dislike. I left that job not too long after but we kept in touch through Facebook and I would stop into our old store from time to time to buy some things and say hi.

I tell you that story because photographing wedding is not about shoes, flowers or the venue. Strip all the fluff away and what you are left with a couple that is in love. That is where the story starts and begins. Yes, every couple will spend hours and hours and lots of money making the surrounding elements as beautiful and grand as possible and I will spend time and effort wrapping my couples in those elements. Make no mistake though, without the couple, those elements mean very little. So going into this wedding I knew Erin very well, I knew her backstory, I had seen her ridiculous horse outfits, I had photographed Erin and Josh’s engagement session… this allowed me to be almost a friend who was shooting their wedding.
